Attending church has been very cathartic for me. I have been watching a live stream from home for the last month, but ventured back to the actual service last week. The Easter service was overwhelming, but in a very good way. It was great to sit amongst everyone, singing the beautiful, moving songs and feeling the fellowship of being with others.
In the morning, Carter opened his Easter basket. He had received a few baskets ahead of time from neighbors and friends, so he knew exactly what to do. We have also been talking about an Easter egg hunt for a week or two. Each time I described it he would say "Now mommy, now!" So, when the day finally came, he was ready! He had a great time running all over my parent's yard and picking up eggs. He didn't even notice there was anything inside the eggs. But, once we showed him, he was ready to be done hunting and start eating!
We enjoyed a nice brunch with my parents, brother Chris and his wife Kate. The rest of the day we were able to relax at home.
