Carter - 11 months

Geez...how can it be a month since I have written? We have been B-U-S-Y over the last month. The changes in Carter have been much more subtle as he approaches his first birthday, but you can definitely tell he is changing, growing, maturing.

Carter is really good at observing something we are doing and then trying it out himself. He just figured out how to twist a lid off of a cup or container.

One day Matt brought home some cute little, toy cars. It only took a few days and Matt had Carter making all sorts of car noises as he drove it all over the floor. =)

Carter has started developing preferences regarding the books that we read. He can anticipate what is on the next page, has favorite pages and loves whenever there is an interactive feature to the book.

He has developed a new attachment to a stuffed giraffe we affectionately call "Wally." He takes him to bed each night and nap time as well. In the last few days he has been sharing his pacifier with Wally, chewing on him, snuggling with him and chatting with him. His face lights up whenever he sees him.

Developmentally, Carter is doing the following:
  • He is saying "ma, da and ba."
  • He cut two more teeth (a molar on the top and bottom on the left side)
  • He is cruising along the furniture and has ventured out to standing and taking a step or two to get somewhere he really wants to go.
We are looking forward to celebrating his first birthday in a few short weeks. Here are a few pictures to check out -
