Carter - 3 months

In addition to celebrating the Christmas holiday, I spent this last weekend working on "sleep training" with Carter. As you may know, Carter was doing pretty good on his sleeping, but he was still consistently waking up at 3 AM and then again at 5 AM and I was convinced that he could make it through the night.

So, after reading a few books my friends had recommended, I decided to really work on getting him to sleep through the night over the Christmas holiday. The "training" involved putting him down awake for naps and bedtime, and allowing him to cry a little bit.

It wasn't easy, but the payoffs have been FABULOUS. Carter has slept through the night the last three nights - not waking up to feed or cry or anything! On the very first night of training, Carter taught himself how to suck his thumb. He is such a smart, darling little thing! We are so proud of him, and are personally enjoying catching up on some much-needed sleep!

Carter continues to do new things each day - whether it be cooing/talking more, getting more mobile or responding to things we do. We are so proud of him, and love him very much!
