Carter - 12 weeks

Our little boy is 12 weeks today. This marks an important crossroads. I guess we need to stop counting his age in weeks and start counting by the months. Now I see what people means when they say "it goes so fast." I turned around and Carter is somehow nearly 3 months old. Where has time gone?

I must say - he gets better by the day. Carter is so.....much....fun. Every few days he is doing something new and it is just so amazing to watch your child develop before your eyes.

He has become so interactive in the last month. He smiles, coos, and gives us great responses to our encouragement.
He kicks his legs, swats at things with his hands and contentedly plays on his floor gym for up to 30 minutes! That is LONG time in mommy land.
He is finding his hands. Each day he gets better at sucking on those hands instead of needing the pacifier. One of these days, he is going to discover his thumb.
He is sleeping pretty good. Usually up around 3:00 am, and then around 5:00 am.
He doesn't fuss much. One of the only times he cries is when you take the bottle out of his mouth to burp him - and then you better watch out - because he is NOT happy!

The other day, he sat in his Bumbo chair for the first time! What a big kid - he can hold his head up now. He just looked around and tried to figure out what this new chair was all about.

He must be in some sort of growth spurt or new phase, because he isn't eating as much, and he is erratic in his sleep patterns.

What someone told me is true - Babies change their habits about every 6 weeks. You just start to get a rhythm...start to figure things out....and then.... they change. =)

He is an amazing little thing and we sure love him!
